To kick off ‘26 we’ve dug deep and rediscovered some great games that have been out on the shelves for far too long, and so, in this time of renewal, revival and rediscovery! We're proud to present some of our special secrets, stored away in the vaults of the RookHart keep. 

 

Our games have always been brought to life by the guests who breathe new life into them via play. And that has been our mission from day 1 - to give forgotten games a rebirth, getting folks round the table to get involved in peaceful play together, forming friendships and a welcoming & inclusive community.

 

Which is also why… from this event onwards:

Thinking back to where RookHart began, we can hardly believe it’s only our 3rd year! We’ve learned so much from our time committed to hosting these events, and we are so thankful we’ve been able to share so many amazing games and moments with so many of you. And whilst we shall endeavour to always stand by our main mission of tackling social isolation, we have become open to adapting our other ways of working to better achieve this.

When we started it was all about the hunt for lost treasure to build our ‘library of lost games’, but now we’ve come to see the potential of opening up our operations to new ways of working. For example, we now give space to newly printed games that we believe deliver an important social message or offer gateways of accessibility in play to people who haven’t yet found games that work for them in 1 way or more; and it’s genuinely been so heart warming to see how the board game community can be at its best, when it works to bring people together, making more room at the table for any who would like to join. 

So we’re beginning the year with new horizons and the exciting promise of adventure. Step by step, we journey ahead, finding new paths and exploring new, exciting opportunities, thankfully accompanied by familiar friends and fostering new connections as we go.

Discovering more of who we are as a community, as a social scene and how we can achieve the next evolution of RookHart whilst staying true to the identity of what RookHart was always made to become; a place of peace, for all to gather, grow and enjoy, in the good company of all who arrive at RookHart - the Realm of Wayward Games.
